What happens when a leading pharmaceutical company expands their manufacturing capacity? Lara learned exactly that at her summer internship with Pfizer in Rocky Mount, NC. While assisting with the tech transfer into the new facility, she cultivated her network with Pfizer professionals across the globe and enhanced her classroom education with real workplace experience.

During her internship as an environmental student engineer, Katye reviewed military construction reports, assisted with formerly used defense site projects, and collected samples to monitor environmental contaminants, while working alongside senior level staff who helped her grow professionally.

Rebecca Deason

Rebecca served in the component engineering department as an aerospace/mechanical engineering intern with United Airlines. Her work involved creating engineering repair authorizations for mechanics and analyzing purchasing and investment opportunities for aircraft repair equipment. She experienced on-the-job training, mentorship and team-building activities.

During her year-long co-op, Madhu scaled processes up and down in a Pilot Plant facility to troubleshoot challenges with production of omega-3 fatty acids from algae. She also grew her professional skillset and learned about different applications of the biosystems engineering discipline.

During her internship, Ashlee worked as a Project Engineer Intern learning about the distillation process in the beverage industry. She conducted a mass and energy balance analysis of the entire distillery process and provided troubleshooting on issues as they arose.
