Biosystems Engineering Student Leighanne Lyvers Awarded 4-H Emerald Award

Leighanne Lyvers was awarded the prestigious 4-H Emerald Award, the highest honor in Kentucky 4-H achievement programs.
The Emerald Award is presented annually to four 4-H'ers following a rigorous application and interview process. Applicants are judge based on their accomplishments across five categories: leadership, citizenship, communications/marketing, community service and participation.
Lyvers will be recognized for her award at the Emerald Gala in May. Because she is an Emerald Award recipient, she was also invited to the National 4-H Conference in Washington, D.C.
Lyvers is very involved in her community and at the University of Kentucky. She is a biosystems engineering student, a peer mentor in the Engineering Living Learning Program and a member of the UK club shotgun team.
